At Niamh's Nature Nursery, we have thoughtfully designed each room to ensure that as each child grows, their developmental needs are met.
Our rooms are inspired by the Montessori approach and philosophies, in particularly prepared environment. Where the environment is the second teacher, alongside child sized furniture, natural materials and neutral colours.
Our rooms encourage curiosity, independence and creativity!
Willow Room
Baby room (age 6 months to 18 months)
Ratio- 1 adult: 3 children
Environment features:
- Floor space for crawling and movement
- Low shelves with Montessori toys
- Low cribs for rest

Bamboo room
Toddler room ( 18 months to 3 years)
Ratio- 1 adult: 5 children

Ivy Room
Pre-school room (age 3-5)
Ratio- 1 adult: 8 children

- Montessori toys
(the toilet is in the next room, staff regularly take the children to the toilet)
Canteen
Independent eating area

Children are encouraged from a young age to be independent and prepare for lunch by following the routine: wash hands, gather cutlery, eat, bin left over food and place cutlery in sink
Outdoor area
Froebel inspired garden
Environment features:
- Open end materials (stones, logs, branches)
- Gardening area (plant, tend and harvest)
- Water and sand areas
- Plants
- Wildlife area (bug hotels, butterfly gardens)
- Building area (wooden planks and crates)
